Then block casting numbers are on the passenger side of the block are just above the starter.
The heads casting number are just above the spark plugs & just below the bottom lip of the valve covers.
Inside the valve covers is the actual Date of casting code.
The Intake manifold casing numbers are just in font of the carb on the intake.
The casting number listed in the first post came from the intake manifold. We are trying to determine the displacement and year of the engine. Thanks for all of the help so far guys.
All 429 and 460 blocks are the same stock bore. The casting number above the starter others have pointed you to will tell you what year the block was cast, actually what year the casting design was accepted for production. Only the casting number will tell you that. The VIN states year of production for the vehicle and what components it was originally equipped with.
