66 Short Styleside

After 2 false starts and 5 months of waiting, I'm once again the owner of a slick since I sold my last one in 1991.

It's a 66 short styleside that is remarkably preserved, with 59,000 original miles.....original paint, 240, 3 on the column.

I bought it from a dealer who bought it from the original owner's widow.

It came with a massive box of maintenance receipts dating back to the late 60's which serve to document the mileage.

It does, however, have plenty of room for improvement. The outside mirror is not stock and is in bad shape, there is a lifter sticking and all of the rubber is shot. Also, the front bumper is pretty tweaked and will need to be removed and straightened out, and finally....both fenders have small dents in them. The driver's side dent is visible in the photo below and the the passenger side fender also has a dent that will need to be repaired.

All in all though, it's a pretty cherry little shorty and was worth the wait.

Here's a photo:

Has anybody ever seen a slick for sale where those fender fronts didn't have a ding or more likely a dent?

Definitely a nice clean truck and I have just the tool that can straighten that bumper while on the truck. Used it on mine.

Sweet ride, I hope to have mine looking like that or better soon. Mine was a one titled owner truck too, but not treated nearly as gentle as your was.

Very Straight!

Tan is best! I may be biased.

Looks like you have another interested party in the drivers seat.
Nothing better than working on old cars and trucks to keep a family together.
All the best.
