I failed the VISUAL smog test and decided to go to another place. When I got to the new place, the guy did a quick visual and said everything looked ok. He then hooked up the smog computer to my truck and it said that I failed the visual at the other location. The guy did not want anything to do with my truck after that.
Is it common for smog places to submit to DMV/CARB that you failed the test even though you paid $0 and received no paper work?
So now everywhere I go, it will say I failed the visual.
Bummer!
It looks like if you cant find "Carb" approved numbers for your add-ons, they will have to be removed and go back to stock, just like the Gassers.
Intakes are supposed to be legal on diesels. The guys that do smog are idiots at most places I've been. The guy was probably having a bad day or upset he didn't make any money on you. I'd file a complaint.

The only thing he listed that was illegal was the 38R turbo.
Go to a smog only station. You can have after market exhaust and intake on a diesel. Talk to the tech, tell them you talked to a ref. at CARB and the first guy didn't know what he was looking at. Turbo is question but it is a stock name brand so they mit just over look it. I talked to my smog tech when I took the wifes car in and told them it had a tuner ahead of time and it passed, smog only station. Good luck and it can't hurt.
