Does C6AE stamp indicate 390 connecting rod? I needed a block to rebuild and picked one up in the local classifieds. I pulled out a 3U 390 crank with C6AE rods. No addition dashes and letters. I didn't measure them before I left the house for a week. Just trying to identify the parts now before they go on eBay.
Thanks

Reason: I typed the wrong stamp #
C6 = 1966. A = full size (generic) or a galaxie part. E = engine part. None of that casting number specifies the displacement, you would have to check the actual length. As far as which length goes to which displacement I don't know, I'm fairly new to the FE world, but I know someone else will. I'm gonna keep checking back too so I can learn. I will look in my FE interchange book when I get home and see if it says anything helpful.
Ok, so my book says that there are 2 different rod lengths. Long rods are 6.540" center to center and where used in the 332, 352, 360, and 361 engines. The short rod measured 6.488" center to center and was used in the 390, 406, 410, 427, and 428 engines. There are several different designs of these rods with different shaft sizes and different bolt sizes since some engines where high performance packages and what not, but from what I'm reading there where only 2 lengths.
