I am the proud new owner of a 1954 F100 that I helped my father rebuild when I was a kid. Since I moved out-of-state he made a lot of changes. I'm currently in the process of trying to move the truck from the Philladelphia area to Idaho. If anyone can recommend good moving company that would be a help. However, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what type of engine is in the truck?
Thanks all This was my dads pride and joy. I helped him rebuild it for 5-6 years when I was just a kid. When I moved away he just kept on tinkering! 460 sounds familiar, but I also remember him telling me that he had bored it out also. Is it possible to tell visually or an easy measurment to take? I just scheduled it to be picked-up asap and brought to me, it's 2500 miles or so away right now. More pictures for you all.

If' it's bored out, the only way to tell is to pull a head off, (normally stamped on top of the piston, but not always) or find the machine shop that did it. It's obviously not worth pulling a head off.
It could be a 429 or 460. They are the same engine family, and pretty much everything on the outside looks the same.
The one thing that has me puzzled; I thought there should be another valve cover bolt in the middle on top, for a total of 7. Am I wrong, or is it just not visible?

It sure looks like there isn't a top middle bolt to me...
That's one wicked truck man, it'll be a fun summer of cruisin for you!

Hmm maybe I'll try to find his receipts and take a look, I'm really curious. Plus, I dont want to be clueless when at a show and someone asks me about the engine haha.
Lorolr - Absolutely, If I have any that is. If not, then I will give it to my nephew, but I'm never selling it, that's for sure!
