Bob, I did the flow test on my trans to check my pump back when I was going thru my trans nightmare, and the fluid moves at considerable pace thru the cooler, I dont think any air could get trapped.
I mounted my cooler behind the A/C condenser, 140* is common on a hot day.
Those that mounted it out front see lower temps, I may move it when I get a chance.

I have mine in front of the AC condenser, I think it will be ok. It is too cool here to see how its going to work out. I'm sure it will warm up soon enough .

You'l prob see 20 or so degree drop over the stock cooler.
I see 160* towing the camper.
Its a real nice cooler for the price. If I can find the ambition, I would like to bend some hard lines to replace the rubber.

Mounted mine down also per instructions - Been about 3 years ago & like others said no problems & temps stay very low even when towing.

Mounting the cooler with the inlet and outlet facing down is preferred.
The cooler will not turn into a garbage can of stuff this way.

As for bleeding the air. The cooler will do this by itself, no matter what way you mount it.

Just to give you an update. I hauled my 5th wheel 13500 lbs 670 miles. the highest transmission temp was 165, I'm happy with the results. Outside air temp was 85*

Good deal Bob,seems like it has really helped in keeping your tranny temps down.
Which way did you end up mounting it poiting up or down. I have the true-cool that is one step down from yours and mine went sideways!
