Gun-nut, as for it maybe being a 428, pull one of the plugs and check the stroke. Also, the 428 has a flywheel (auto or standard) that is specific to that motor. Check the #s on the flywheel and check the balance weight. That is a dead give away unless they spent around $500 to have it internally balanced (crank).
I'll bet ND will have some #s for ya and maybe a picture or two of the flywheel.
Would I be able to check this with the motor mounted?
I removed the bottom portion of the bell housing(?) the other day, but I didn't look for any numbers.
