Any susggestions for getting the valve cover off. It is being pretty stubborn! I've whacked it with a rubber mallet, wedged a screw driver between it and the head and it's not moving.
I've got what I thought was an exhaust leak, but sounds like it's in the valve cover or head. Am I looking at a bad valve, pushrod or spring?
How about doing a compression check? That should tell you what kind of shape the engine is in. I had a friend with a 351w that had a 3/8 wide hunk of exhaust valve missing. He drove it like that for 6 months before replacing the engine.
