I just need a bit a better understanding for the TPS, concerning a '92, 302.
I recently replaced my old 56mm, Twin TB, with a BBK 56mm, Twin TB. As I'm reading the instructions, it says to rotate the TPS until a .80 to 1.0 volts is reached. I could only achieve .76 volts @ max clockwise rotation. Hence I bouggered with the Idle set screw until I achieved .80 volts. That was perhaps (1) complete turn.
The TPS on the OEM TB is only 6 months old. My question is, Do I need to file/drill the mounting holes on the TB in order to achieve NOTED voltage? I would also be reset the Idle Screw to it's prior setting before doing so.
NOTE: I have looked over both my Haynes and Chilton Manuals to see there NOTED Reference as well.
Chilton: 0.66-1.22 volts
Haynes: 0.50-1.00 volts
I know there is going to be a variness, I just want to be sure if it's ok for the filing/drill of the holes to attain the .80 volts setting according to BBK.
I think I solved my own question. After reading the instructions it doesn't say to verify that noted voltage until after all installation and you have set the Base Idle with the IAC Valve disconnected.
