Ok so today i went out after driving around for a while and noticed there was a puddle of oil on my driveway. Not huge but big enough to not be good! So anyways I start the truck {which is a 84 f-150 with a 302} and I look under the hood. I see a little bit of oil spraying onto the oil filter. So my question is whats in front of the oil filter that could Spray oil? where is the oil sending unit? could this be the problem?
This information is for an '81 351, but should apply to your engine as well:
There is a threaded temperature switch just above the oil filter. The switch body is plastic. If it's cracked at the end were the electrical connecors go on, it will leak oil.
The switch feeds to the electric choke and tells it when the engine is sufficiently warm enough to turn off the choke.
In my case, the choke was not going off as it should, and I didn't know why. When the switch started leaking oil, I replaced it and the choke began working correctly.
It was the guy at the auto parts store that told me what the switch was for. I thought it was a pressure switch, and so did my Ford dealer. But they didn't have it anyway, so that's how I ended up at the auto parts store.
The oil pressure switch is a dome ended switch with only one wire to it. It's located near the underneath of the water pump.
You may just have to clean off everything real good and try to eyeball where the leak is coming from. Good luck.

I got a 1980 ford f-150 with a 351 modified with a couple of problems, the first is i have an oil leak above my oil filter and it sprays on my filter, the second is my truck runs good for awhile then after about 30 mins of running it starts bogging down then eventrully dies and takes about 45 mins to get it started back up. can anybody please help me.
Don't dredge up old posts then HIJACK them that's just bad form, I am glad you searched but if you don't find what you need post your own thread and say I tried
search but, For the oil leak wipe down the area and spray it down with carb cleaner
so you have some nice dry metal and you can pinpoint the leak next time you run it.
I would try 2 bottles of heet and a bottle of iso heet and maybe some lucas fuel
treatment. Water in the gas can cause all kinds of funky running problems!!
