Truck had a whining sound like a power steering pump (but it's not). I hear a growl like a wheel bearing that is related to vehicle speed and not engine RPM. I think these sounds are coming from the transmission. Figures. Had the truck for two months. I traded out of a 06 Dodge that broke down all the time to get stuck with this issue. I don't have the money. Any idea how long it will last? I have towed with it twice. I am pi$$ed. Truck has 115k.
the whine, prolly is power steering, can you duplicate by turning wheel w/o moving.
the grinding could be front bearings, jack it up remove tires and caliper so you can fell only the hub bearings. jack up the rear, put in neutral and really check the U joints.
just to maybe help you think of better things to go bad.

Thanks. I do know the whining is not the power steering. I wish it was. It is not related to turning; only rpm's and shifts.
