I/C leak

Is it possible to have a leak, from inside where the cooling fins are, or more proned to where the boots connect to/outlet necks?

Most of the time, you see leaks at the boot connections. I did have a 6.0 I/C that had a small crack in the plastic tank. Unless the core is physically damaged, it is rare to see a leak in the tubes or headers (ends that the tanks attach to).

If you have a stock I/C it's quite possible that the plastic to metal connection is leaking or the plastic end tanks have a crack. On mine, I had a boot blasting air/oil onto the valve cover and it was clear where it was coming from.
