OTW vs. OTA

Since my ride, 6sp, does not have the OTA/trans cooler, but does gets its coolness from being inside the radiator, i ask, which is better. Somewhat worried over time, that the tubing from inside the radiator will breakdown and cause both water and trans fluid to mix. What you guys think, will the OTA be enough for cooling, and bypass the OTW, or plum in the trans cooler, keeping the OTW?

I pull a 16K toy hauler and I found the tranny cooler in the radiator wasn't enough. So I installed a 6.0 cooler in line with the radiator cooler. I piped the cooler in the radiator first then the 6.0 cooler next. I havn't seen anything over 185F since doing this. When I'm not pulling, I never get over 125F. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dogs.....think i'll try at first, OTA, and if not enough, will plumb back in the OTW along with the OTA.

I'm going to use the stock 4R100 one from my dads 01 Stroker. That should be more than enough for our 6 speeds. There are plenty of those 7.3 coolers around for nothing and IMO the 6.0 cooler is not worth the money in a manual trans. I'm going to bypass the radiator cooler too, I don't trust it.

Nice, i was just a hare late on getting a few stockers, (on C.L.), now they're gone, but that was the reason for a bigger cooler, in case, i do, bypass the OTW one.
