I am buying a 69 mach 1 from a guy in LA, I live way north in California. So we are basically 700 miles away. I need to transport the car somehow. Does anyone know the cheapest way to do it? The ebrake works but there is no engine. Thanks alot.
I just talked to U-haul about moving a car about 60 miles. They have two auto transporters. One is a 2 wheel dolly that hitches to a class 2 bumper hitch,(it will hook to a ball on your bumper). You place the front wheels on it and tow it.
That is about 45 dollars per day. The other option is a trailer that will carry your car off the ground. You would need a truck with a Class 3 hitch,( Hitch bolted to chassis) and the load limit is 4000 pounds. 700 miles is a long trip, maybe a flatbed would be the best way to get it home safely. probably cost around 600 dollars.
Don't let that Mustang die!! Save her and send us some pix.
