There really wasn't a "max tow" package in '07. The factory tow package consisted of the 2" receiver, 7-way trailer wiring and oil cooler. The tow rating is based on the cab size/rear axle ratio/engine combo. The heavy duty package (regular or supercab, 8' bed, 7 lug wheels/4.11 axle) tows the most, all the other 5.4 powered trucks fall into a reasonably narrow range. Do you have the factory installed hitch and 7 way trailer wiring? Your owners manual will tell you what your tow rating is, you will have to know your axle ratio.
His 6.5' bed should give away that he does not have the heavier running gear and 7-lugs, which is referred to on the spec sheet as the "5.4L payload package".

Thanks for clearing it up for me fellas!! I have the hitch and wiring.. Im looking at putting a gooseneck hitch in my truck to haul around some scrap steel would it be wise to install some helper springs or airbags?

Yeah Tom I do think that'd be a good idea. The thing about a gooseneck though is the pin weight. Remember that if you're exceeding the posted load capacities of your truck while on a public highway that you could get yourself into some trouble with the law. The 150 really isn't meant to take 5th wheels, but it can. That's where the 250 and 350 really shine.
But, add-a-leaf or air bags would be a smart move. How much does the trailer weigh by itself?
air bags are > than add a leaf because add a leaf will ride rough all the time without a load and it will lift the rear of you truck so without a level kit in the front it will look goofy but you can let the air out of the bags some and get the factory ride quality and height back.
I added an Add-A-Leaf and set it to the max load capacity and can't tell much difference in ride quality. My 06 always rode a little rougher than my SD did. It was probalby due to the extra foot in wheelbase and much taller sidewalls in the tires. It works great for the 7 or 8 times a year I tow. If I were to tow everyday, I would have a SD instead of an F150.
