Just wanted to show pics of before and after... I picked this grille up for a $100 bucks of Craigslist as my 18th birthday present.
I think it look's a million times better... thoughts?
BEFORE
AFTER
It's from a 73' the guy was parting out his dad's old truck.. which seems like a shame... but he threw in the bumper for an extra $25 bucks. I'm happy.
I like the 73 style better also. You got a great deal on those parts. I have more than that tied up in mine and it's no where close to the same shape yours is in.
Me either. Last summer I was trying to get involved with a G2G (get together), but it was decided to have it some 2hrs east of Portland. I had a real vision problem with that....i couldn't see driving that far. Maybe this year they will pick somewhere a little more travel friendly. I'd do Ocean Shores or Long Beach.
Few of us out here in Spokane area too......Funny I lived in the California North Bay for a while and could score those grilles all day long at pick and pull for 25-30 bucks, 13 bucks on half price day. I couldn't give them away down there so I stopped grabbing them. I had four or five of them and gave them all to the guy who bought my 76 4X Crew. You'd be amazed at the condition of the 73-79 Fords in there, even 67-72 and older. Anywhere else they'd still be being driven.
I think it lokks alot better to, I did the same swap on mine. With everyone doing this there should be alot of good 78-79 grille to be had. I need to sell mine so I can buy more parts.

Oh my bad.....I forgot about you guys in Spokane!!! Shame on me....having lived in the Tri-Cities as a young lad and doing abit of 4 wheeling in the sand.
im a fan of whats true to the year of the truck. i like the 78s with the round lights but the area surrounding them needs to be black. im assuming you had the extra hood?
