80 - 86, 87 - 91, & 92 - 96 are the generation gaps, but most of these are interior and front end (grille, hood, fenders) sheet metal change.
The rest is pretty much the same with various minor differences, such as ABS systems, fuel pumps for carb or EFI, etc. etc. It doesn't sound like it'll have much to do with what you're going after.
anyhow the whole motivation for me buying another TTB 44 is so I can rebuild it on the bench and just R&R when I'm ready. there is NO WAY in hell I will sitting on pavement, laying down on my back, leaning over....well, you get the picture. I've seen enough threads where people had hell getting the spindles off.
did I mention there is no way in hell I will even attempt to rebuild the front axle while its on the truck?
