On an 80-86, asking right here would be fine.

Just register it using the title you have and be done with it? Someone should of atleast swapped the cab vins properly. Even if that is illegal, 90% of the other part of the truck is the other vin, and cabs arn't really that different.

So what happens when you get stopped or someone checks to find the vehicle registration & VIN on the truck don't match?? Say you get in an accident even minor & the stuff is different?? Or if your State has an inspection then what??
I think, but I'm not very smart, that I would be somewhat concerned about having a VIN & Title with mismatched numbers. But what do I know. I guess I worry about the wrong stuff.

What happens is they impound your truck when your vin doesnt match your registration. State inspection here in WV involves verifying a match vin of the registration and cab.

OP, you will need to find the vin on the frame, and the cab. Most likely, you'll need a title for both the cab and the frame, to keep the truck legal. I don't know the exact rules in Florida, but that makes the most sense to me.

As a general rule of thumb, F100's with power brakes, but below 5,000 GVWR got the smaller lug pattern and brakes. Power brake equipped F100's with a GVWR above 5,000 and all manual brake F100's got the larger F150 lug pattern, and larger brakes.

I looked up and down the top side of the frame rail from the shock to 4 inches past the cab with a mirror on the passenger side... no luck finding a vin.

this frame and suspension parts have been painted bright red most likely when the cab was swapped any possible location to look instead to find a vin?

You may need to move further back under the cab. Still on the top of the passenger frame rail.
