Thread moved to the Explorer forum.

That sounds like it thinks the doors are open.

That would be my guess as well but oddly I don't find anything in the owner's manual about this....

Does the information panel indicate that it thinks a door is ajar? Do the interior lights do anything unusual?

RE: my 2004 explorer honks 3 times on lock and 4 times on unlock when you just press the remote once

I was having the same issue for weeks. Although there was no door ajar indicator, other forums mentioned this was the behavior when a door open was detected(even though there isn't) during lock and unlock sequence. Probably bad or sticky door sensor. Solution is to spray all door and hatch latches with a bunch of wd40 and then proceed to slam each door 3 or 4 times. Worked for me. No more incessant short honks.

UUgghhh its back

No matter how much wd-40 and door slamming I do, I am getting the 4 short honks on lock and 2 on unlock. No door ajar light and interior lights go off as normal so it doesn't seem to be door open sensor. Ideas? Help much appreciated.
