Alright everybody. I was travelling down International Boulevard earlier today admiring all the hot chicks on the back of all the bikes when my truck started squealin like a pig. Wanna talk about embarassing? Got back to the house and noticed my air pump is seized. I have a 1996 F-250 5.8 4x4. I've been reading some and tried to measure my belt but it measures out at somewhere at 103". Anyone else bypassed their's with another shorter belt?
never bypassed mine but would like to. i had the same experienced, drove about 13 miles home on the freeway to the floor with it squealing cuz i was so mad i had just replaced it to my surprise the belt never snapped.
There are other posts about the shorter belt, do a quick search you'll have your information in no time! I just purchased the air pump eliminator pulley, will be putting it on after I swap engines.
I really am just gonna run a shorter belt. I don't have emissions, ain't worried about emissions and my belt is pretty chewed up, so I have to get a new one anyways. I keep searching, but I keep running into situations where the tensioner is on top. I'm getting kinda desperate and need advice quick. Thanks
