I had posted a few weeks ago about a drip from the TC that had turned into a ton of fluid on the ground at the end of a 250 trip. These are the orignial pictures I posted up:
People here offered a few solutions, but mostly said spray it down with simple green and look for where it is pooling. I took this opportunity to put in a HPx, plenum inserts and new plenum boots, and try and clean out the valley.
I ended up finding a huge mouse nest that pretty much filled the valley, most likely because the po seems to have parked it for a while before selling it. Other than that, there was soot and residue everywhere from the original leaky plenum boots. I tried to clean it up as much as possible, but couldn't see any obvious source of leaks, specifically at the fuel bowl and HPOP as members had suggested.
Then I remembered someone mentioned the turbo pedestal could be leaking? I'm not 100% sure where exactly this is, but my educated guess was right under the turbo, so I looked and saw what is pictured below...
Other than the one time where there was substantial fluid on the ground, I forgot to mention that the large leak occurred just after going up a very steep incline on a residential street while backing into the drive way of the house we were going to, there has only been a small drop under the TC when I got out to the truck....
So lay some knowledge on me, somebody please....
looks like ya EBPV (exhaust back pressure valve) is leaking which is common. That rod under the turbo that is connected to the pedestal. Clean it right up and see if thats it. Also it looks like its bent. Or it might just be the way the picture has come out. You can get rebuild kits for it but it means taking the turbo off. Or you could spend a bit more and go the EBPV delete pedestal and be done with it.

Check your transmission fluid, I know others have puked fluid around the seal where the torque converter is with a load in reverse, its geared a little high and seems to build preasure unless you go to 4 low.
Yes the pedestal is under the turbo. For the little bit of oil you're seeing, I'd guess either the CAC boots were loose and leaking oil (looks like they were judging from the pics, but that may not have been enough for the drips) or the EPBV actuator rod as Brian suggested.
If you hold your camera down further in the engine, you can see where the rod goes. If you clean the pedestal up, you'll be able to watch to see if you're getting any oil leaks from there.
You can see the pedestal has a lip down below the rod that will catch a little oil and make the trail easier to see.
One of the major problems I have had is how dirty the engine bay is. There were definitely seriously leaks at the plenums, which should now be taken care of, but the result is grime and oil residue everywhere. This has only made it harder to track the leak. What I have noticed however is that the leak dripping from the TC isn't that dirty. The oil isn't completely dark and actually is a dirty amber color. This leads me to believe that perhaps it isn't leaking over extremely dirty parts?

This actually occurred to me and I checked the trans fluid the next morning. It didnt register on the stick! I add a quart and a half. The thing is, I don't know if that was a pre-existing condition or if it caused the leak. I did not check the fluid level properly before this, while running and at operating temp. Also, the truck was unloaded during this whole trip...

Yea... the CAC boots were definitely loose and leaking...but wouldn't more than the back of turbo pedestal be covered in that area....such as around the front of it?
IDK just thinking out loud as again there is soo much crud in there I don't know where to look. I tried cleaning with Simple Green but it only did so much....

Reason: wrong picture
check your hpx connections. I had sme thing after installed the product. Didnt have it tight enough. I did a few "minor" mods, maint..etc, and then BAM, a leak. Not only was my pedastal leaking, the fittings were leaking too. Cleaned up the best i could, then fired ur up. Saw a NICE stream running atop the plenums and falling back, back of motor.
Dude I have the SAME problem its runing down the back of the up pipes and down the motor to the little drip pan and drips. I cant find where its coming from I shined a mirror all over and could see its wet but dont know where its coming from. If i lay under the truck and reach my arm up to the top of the up pipes I can feel its a little wet but cant see where. I am getting so frustrated

i installed the HPX yesterday while trying to clean things up to find the leak so thats definitely not it....

I dont see anything in the valley on my truck so its realy frustrating to find
If you have oil running down the back of the engine but the valley is dry, those plugs are the likely cause. They are located in the back of the head, hidden from view by the uppipe. There should also be plugs in the front of the heads. For some reason all the ones we have had to fix at work have been rear plugs.
