I'm about 2 days away from going and buying a 2003 F-150 SuperCrew Lariat. The sticker price is nearly $38,000. The dealer offered it to me for $31,500, plus a rebate that would put it around $29,000-$30,000. Is this a standard deal because the new ones are coming out, or am I getting a better than normal deal? Would I be able to get this price with a 2004 when they come out?
Write the check as fast as you can and hand it to the dealer. An F-150 SuperCrew with a sticker of approx. $38,000 would have an invoice of around $33,500. Ford employee A-Plan price would be right around $32,000. I believe you've been "low-balled" by this dealer. In other words, he gave you a price to go shop with, a ridiculously low price that they have no intention of honoring. This "great" price, that no reputable dealer can even come close to, will insure that you return to their dealership. Once you get their, the number will go up. They made a mistake, the salesman made a mistake, the $31,500 INCLUDED the rebate, you misunderstood, etc... If you can actually buy it for that, WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE (warranty, paint sealant, etc...), then like I said: write the check before they realize how much money they're losing on the deal. This is a BRAND-NEW truck, right?
Wow know wonder most Americans want to buy there trucks from Canada. $31,500 for an F150 Super Crew Lariat works out to $46,310 Canadian. Thats over MSRP for one with a 5.4L, power pedals, heated powered seats, and a power sliding rear window. To me that just seems bizarre that there would be that much of a difference.
Thanks for the input. I'm going tonight to finalize the deal, so we'll see what I end up with. I'll let ya know if he "lowballed me." Yes it is a new truck.
My roomate is going to buy a 2003, screw, lariat, 4x4, 5.4L, for 28.8k (US). It has 500 mile on it (considered new until 1500 miles in CO). I hate that I paid 28k for mine in Oct and it had 1000 miles on it. I still think I got an okay deal, but man, he is getting a great deal. Levi
I bought the truck for a little more than what I had expected, but that was just b/c I was buried in my other truck. Now another question. The truck has the electronic automatic temp control (which means it has a digital readout of the temp in the truck and outside-not the usual ***** to adjust the heat/cool). But the damn thing is in degree C. Do any of you know how to get it into degrees F. I've read the entire manual and it won't tell me.
Hi everyone. I'm new to FTE and this is my first post. I look forward to learning alot from you all. This is my second Ford Truck. I considered a 2003 Ram 1500 but in the end I just like Fords. I purchased by SCrew a couple days ago. Here is my deal. 2003 Lariat 4x4 loaded. MSRP $36,775. Cash price $30940. I couldn't be happier with my truck and my salesman was very professional and helpful. Overall a very nice experience.
Got my 2003 SCrew just about a month ago. Listed for 33K and change and they dropped it to 27K and change. Just a shade over 29K out the door after that. I was very pleased. It's a 4x2. completely loaded and a dream to drive and ride in. Now if it gives me the 10 years of service my 92 Explorer did then I will indeed be one happy ford guy. . .
