Is a 6 seat lariat undesirable?

I am looking to buy a 2011. I like the new generation but want to limit the damage to my wallet by going used.

I my perfect truck wish list I have:
Crew cab (must have)
Lariat or Ranch (desirable but I can make do with XLT)
Bronze color (desirable but I could go with red or black)
Beige interior (really don't like the gray, any color leather but gray is fine)
6 seats (only a family of 4 but we expect to bring friends camping)

So just this morning I see the perfect truck on the market
2011 crew, bronze, lariat, 6 seats, 60,000km(37k miles)

The price is high of course; it's a lariat 2011 with low mileage. But it's pretty good compared to other lariats that come with console 5 seats.

Is there trouble hidden there or are most people not looking for 6 seats? I will get a carfax report and try to deal on the price but right now it's looking very good except maybe too early. I need to finance a good part of it.

It all comes down to personal preference. It seems like most of the trucks come with the consoles. I needed the 6th seat to fit the whole family. I don't think that there is 'trouble' with it at all.

X2. Personally I am not a fan of the console seats. My wife likes to sit beside of me and a bench seat makes it much more comfortable for her. Just comes down to personal preference.

2 of my trucks have the middle seat up front that folds to a shallow console. The third truck has just the large console and can only seat 5....I wish it had the center seat instead. I can't remember how many times we wanted to use that truck but couldn't because there were 6 people in our group.

I like the bench - the console takes up too much space.

6 seater here as well, no complaints at all. I've never had a center console so I don't know any better.

I prefer the bench seat. Mine has the console.

Mine has the bench up front too. That was MANDATORY. The wife sits there, even when we are cruising alone. Been that way for a while now and always will be (her words).

Console? Sounds like a waste of space to me. How am I supposed to lay down and take a nap if there's a console between my seats? I don't want to crawl in back every time I take a nap in the truck, the backseat is for overnight sleeping only.

In fact one of the reason I bought a crew cab is so I'd have lots of room to lay down and sleep overnight when traveling in my truck.

I don't believe the center seat is any less desirable. I got it and love the versatility of it. It functions perfectly. However a six seat Lariat is kinda rare when you see what is on the lot.

Don't understand why the console trucks seem to he so popular these days. Made sure I ordered my 2013 with the flip seat. The console takes up so much room. You lose a lot of foot room with the console.

Could it be that the bench owners are not willing to sell/trade
in there trucks?

Anyway I like my console and if I need a nap the seat does recline
way back. Power seats are so nice

Sorry about the

Unless you order a 6 seater they are rare. Both my '11 and my New '13 have the front jump seat option. it was a must, so I did a lot of searching before finding one. I like having the option of seating 6 people if needed.

I'm not a fan of consoles in any vehicle. When we were shopping SUV's that was a deal breaker. Some of them had consoles in the between the middle seats too. Trucks sameway, I would love a KingRanch or Lariat package, but the console has to go. I've got the middle jump seat/fold down console and I can take an extra person that way if needed. Most of the time the console is folded down and is a good arm rest.

Sounds like what you're looking at is rare. The other thing is I'm sure you'll never ever say to yourself, I wish I had gotten one with only 5 seats and the console. I will guarantee you find a time when you'll be glad you got the 6 seater.

Put me in the category

of preferring a bench; it's much more versatile.
