All of a sudden on the drivers side my tire is rubbing on the rear of the fender.
I do have an undiagnosed front end noise. I've read about a million threads here and haven't been able to pinpoint it. I also haven't gone into real specific trouble shooting to figure it out though. I'm hoping someone will have an answer to the tire rubbing that might also let me know what my front end noise is...
The tires are 285's, which is what has been on this truck for over 4 years now without any rubbing, and I know they fit when I bought this set.
Here's the passenger side with plenty of clearance
Check your body mounts from the very front of the fenders to the back of the cab. Look for broken or missing pads. Also look at the mounts themselves to see if they may have compressed or cracked. I had this happen on a Bronco I owned once. I took it offroad quite a bit and I guess it was abused once to often.
Jack the front of the truck up off the ground and check everything. Something is certainly a miss upfront. It wont be long before you wear a hole through the inner wall.
Try this. Look at the spring perch and see if it has shifted back an inch or so. If you have hit anything hard or played hard with it the pin that holds it in place on top of the axle may have been torn off allowing the axle to shift rearward a little. This is just another check but may not be your problem. I have seen this happen on trucks used off road hard. Good luck and keep us posted.
