Oil Leak
Ok my wifes 02 Escape last week started leaking some oil. When you stop or park you can smell it burning. I quickly glanced underneath and can see the pan is wet near the back and it appears the leak is just above the cat. There is no oil in the driverway and she can smell it everytime she stops. So far I can see no oil loss on the dipstick. I won't have time this weekend bit next weekend I will put it on the ramps to lift it a little more so I can see. It appears to be comeing from the backside as I can see thining from the top at all. It is not leaking enough to srip past the exhaust. Has anyone had this issue and what was it leaking.
It cannot be the drain plug. The plug is well below and to the side of the exhaust.

yes the pcv /oilseperter in engine valle was leaking on mine the bolts had back out i guess becuase i had never changed it oil would run down the back by the tranny pull the engine its under the intake

I put it on ramps and got under it. I appears that it was leaking out the oil pan and tightened all the bolts. They were tight but I was able to get about 1/8 to 1/4 turn. For now I do not smell burnt oil so we will see.
