I don't know how you could get that in the lifter galley to use it...how often do you work on your valves??short answer...I don't know ...but it looks neet!!
Not totally sure by the size, but I helped restore an 8N Ford Tractor a few years ago and the one I used to get the springs in and out of that worked the same general way. It looks like an oversized compressor for a Briggs and Stratton!
I talked to the guy and he said it was a Ford flathead spring compressor. My thought was you would use it after removing the valve/spring/guide assembly from the block? Thoughts??
I can see how it could work, but depending on the tool size I think it would be very hard to use in the limited area in the galley.
I think it might be better suited for use on a Flathead straight 8 like a Pontiac or straight six Flatheads where you have more room.
There are much better designed valve spring tools that that one.

I've seen those, they are an adaptation of the B&S tools. It wouldn't be the first one I reached for on a V8, but on the straight flat-6's it is probably a great tool.
Wayne, once the valve assembly is out of the head, you don't need any tools to assemble/disassemble. There's no pressure.
