4" Suspension lift help needed

I need to do a lift on the truck and im going with a 4" suspension lift. Not sure which brand yet. My question is will I need new shocks and pitman arm with a 4"? Also, how about the front drive shaft? Will it need to be extended?

Any help on choosing a lift brand would be appreciated.

And it is a IFS.

Well no help there, but here is what i know now. I purchased a 4" suspension kit from roughcountry. Minus the rear springs. (will have local shop rework my pair i have on the truck)

Question now is, do I or does anyone know about my front drive shaft? Will it work, or will it need to be lengthened?

I was told by 2 different shops that you dont need to lengthen the front driveshaft unless your going to lift it 8in or more.YMMV

I don't know how far until it needs lengthened, but for 4" you will be absolutely fine. I had no issues with mine. Pitman arm and shocks came in my lift kit.

really depends on the style of lift in regards to the shocks,if the space between the mounts has increased then I would like to see a longer shock! Front shaft will be fine! Pitman arm will work just need to adjust your link from the pitman arm to center your steering wheel! If you change your pitman arm then your supposed to drop the track bar bracket as well! I have 3' of lift in mine with stock pitman and track bar bracket,I only had to adjust my adjustable track bar. Stock length shocks as well! Three years and running with no unusual issues! Hope that helps..

Thanks for the help! My kit did come with the pitman arm, shocks, springs, and drop brackets for axle. Front axle is completely out now. Replacing all seals, bushings and u-joints. My front end was sagging so bad, it may look like an 8" lift Now I wish the snow would melt so I can finish up!

Well its all complete, Had a heck of a time getting left side spring in was in a bind/twist. But got it after 8 hours of cursing. Then to top it all off the u bolts for the rear end they sent me were 6" longer than my stock ones. And only have a 3" block. Threads were to the top of my plate where the u bolt nuts go. Had to stick 3 washers in there to get it to work. Guess they sent me u bolts for the 6" lift. Now just need to get an alignment. Dang tires towed in bad. (looks like it ready for Baha) Few weeks Ill have my rear springs done right and remove the blocks.

Thanks for your hep all!
