Ok, I doubt you could make that much boost without good fuel pressure.
I got it!! Ya just need to release the e-brake...
I know you are going insane, I think a few of us are over this. Hang in there!! Tell Jacquie we can't get a truck this good 'new' anymore. Well, as good as this one SHOULD be anyway!
I have a spare engine that you can use till you figure out what is wrong with yours.
You think we could pull off an engine swap at RRE...
David in all seriousness after driving your truck and watching the gauges nothing makes sense.
If your trans is not slipping, and your rearend is not binding, and your cam has lobes on it, all I can think is tuning...
I can ship you my extra e99 PCM and I'll pull and send my chip with it if it could help you rule something out.( Not sure if that would work or not on your 01.)
Ok Jason you asked for it! It all started with me finding my truck with 105,000 miles on it and the guy didn't need it anymore and just needed to get out from under it. He settled for 9,500 bucks and I jumped on it. At first I was excited about it and it felt weak but I figured with a tune up and it would be good. So I changed the air, fuel, and oil and oil filter. No change. Hum! Brought it to a mechanic and he said some trucks are weaker than others and I just neede to put a chip on it. He also mentioned I could check the screens in the tank cause they might be clogged. This is when it all started! I started researching and Dan started working with me on the ol gal. After going through all the steps the end result with the fuel was I didn't have a problem and I now have a gauge mounted on my dash and a new pump and inline filter on the fuel system. Moving on I installed a superchip to bump up the performance and it helped but the cruise control would fluctuate and all in all I wanted a lil more so I traded it in on a ts chip. It had lots more power but it would almost act like the throttle would act really weird so I went back to the mechanic and hr kept it for a day and came to the conclusion that I should change all 8 injectors and I posted it and I finally got hooked up with Rick to start data logging. We found that the truck ran good with no I'll symptoms in stock except that the truck felt weak and with the chip above stock the icp would fall and the dc would max out. Same thing it's doing now. So I tinkered with it and in the process I changed up pipes to bellowed, frx, hpx, dp tuner, ww, new ipr, new icp, OCR, swapped mapp sensor, swapped PCM, new boots, gauges(trans, egt, boost), also tightened waste gate, deleted ebpv, cleaned ebp tube, added 6637 air filter, rebuilt rearend and probly some other stuff I missed. After most of this was done we started looking deeper and figured that the low icp with the tunes and high dc had to have something to do with the weak feeling. So I finally changed the hpop and we all know what happened there and also changed the lpop just before that. The reason I changed the lpop was we had concluded it was not able to catch it's prime with cold oil. Once that was changed my cold start problem was fixed. But my icp was still low at wot on tunes. Then I got another pump from a clay with known good pressure on another truck with good icp and dc and when I tested it I was getting the same results with no improvement so I decided to pull my valve covers and watch my injectors on a cold to start to see how they were discharging and it all seemed fine. I watched for about 15 min. I couldn't find anything so I decided to pull my injectors and have them tested. I sent them to cass and the end result of that was there was nothing wrong with them so they were resealed and and I am waiting on them to get back now. The only new lead I have is my res empties itself when my truck sits. As far as I know this has only started happening since the hpop failure. I did pick up a hose and gauge to monitor the low pressure oil while driving. Thank guys and hopefully someone will notice something I'm overlooking.
WOW!! Dave, i knew you were having problems but i guess i came late to the game and didnt know you went thru a small fortune in upgrades only to not have any significant improvement on your original problems. I havent ridden in your truck, but watching one of the videos you posted of your 0-80 runs i seem to remember that you had the rpms, but no acceleration. Do you have any suspicions of the trans at all? But that is like the injectors, would hate to throw money at a problem without knowing exactly whats wrong. In my best clinton voice, "I feel your pain".
Make sure you use new o rings when you install the injectors. I'm not sure what to say but it sounds like a engine/mechanical problem to me. Hope you can figure something out. Your problems are reminding me of Franks 30 page transmission issue.
So I had an old mechanic tell me he had a hpo line on a 97' actually collapse similar to how a brake line would and actually stopped flow on a line and caused his truck to stop running. Said it took forever to diagnose, and I could belive it. Could it be possible for a hose to come apart inside and block just enough flow that in regular stock tunes the flow is not as great as the flow with the tunes and cause me to have volume issues and be part of the reason I am kissing pressure? I know it sounds winded but what do you think?
Alright I'll start with fuel to rule it out. I have a gauge mounted on my coweling and it never drops below55 and normally runs at 60-62. It is tied in before the fuel filter, but I know it's got pressure. Boost in stock runs a consistent 20 lbs and with tunes it can get to 30 but I think it hangs around 28 for the most part. Egt's in stock can get around 1100 wot but mostly stay around 800-900 when crusing. With tunes it can get to 1300-1400 before I know it. Ebpv is deleted! It will smoke in 80 and 120 tunes but seems to clear up once rolling good. Also is straight exaust 4" to 5" under cab. I'm going insane Jason, Jacquie said never again will I get a used truck.
How can you have 20 psi boost in stock tune and no power?
Exhaust restriction?

If you have an HPX installed that might not be an issue unless they are both clogged.
