Yeah I'm currently checking it manually, that was my first thought too. I honestly havent driven it enough to have a for sure actual mileage, but I know my truck and Im sure something is up. I had a 95 f250 with a 460 in high school I swear that there were times when the gas gauge dropped faster than the speedometer went up. This feels pretty similar. I see you are in Newport, Im up in Bonners Ferry and Ive had nothing but bad luck with Rokstad. Do you have any suggestions on another reliable service center?

Interesting, what you say about Rokstad. I bought my truck from Tom Addis when they were in Newport. But they closed that dealership and I planned on going to Rokstad if I ever needed to. Anything to avoid Wendal in Spokane. So no, I don't have any suggestions for local Ford service dealership except for Tom Addis in Coeur d' Allene but that's a long way for both of us. Let us know what your actual mileage turns out to be.

Turns out a little maintenance was all I needed...Changed the fuel filter and the mileage went right back to normal. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Fuel filters are tough to remember to do, I think, because they last so long. Glad to hear it's back to normal. It should be easier on your fuel pump, too.

What type of fuel filer do the 2006 F-150 4x4 4.6L trucks have? "Standard" barrel type or something Ford specific? Dealer only item?

Thanks.

4.6 and 5.4 have the same filter. Yeah it's barrel shapped but not motorcraft specific, any advance auto, autozone, napa type store will have one.

Thanks for the quick confirmation.

My truck must have some kind of issue as this 4.6 should have more power than I'm currently feeling. This is my first 4.6 vehicle, so maybe this is just what it puts out. Fuel filter can't hurt though.
