because having a truck accelerate without the driver's permission in REVERSE would be extremely dangerous.

as opposed to having a truck accelerate without the driver's permission in DRIVE is perfectly safe and acceptable.

i agree, it's annoying. most of the fuel injected fords i've driven tend to do goofy things like this ... apparently it is just what they do.

While I do like many of the features of this truck all of the small problems are driving me crazy and I believe Ford rushed it to market before it was ready. Bad for us. For example, my transmission now slips between second and third every morning, when down shifting the engine surges to 1400 rpm as soon as it drops from second into 1st and thats just two issues.

If your truck has a 5.0 and was built at Dearborn, then there is a reflash available that was released on August 16.
