Hi Everyone,
I have a 2003 F-250 w/6.8 and only 33,000 miles on my truck. I hear a rod knock, and before I take it to Ford dealership,I would like to know if anyone else has any advise with getting Ford to help with the cost of a engine.
I do all my own oil changes, and maintenance...no receipts for service.
Thanks for any advise,
John
The warrenty duration has long since expired even though your under on the mileage.(3/36k) You can talk to the dealer but I think your SOL on getting any help from Ford especially since you don't have maint records. A rod knock with 33k should not happen with regular maint, I would make sure its not something else. Take it in to get checked out.
Thanks for the quick replies. I wish you guys were right about it not being a rod knock. Once the engine is warmed-up the knocking is more pronounced.
I changed the oil yesterday, and with new oil,you can see glitter. You can't feel anything in the oil,but it's there.
Thanks, John
