Just bought a used 2008 F-150, it is completely stock, but I keep getting the TPMS Light blinking, then after a while goes to stead light. Next time I drive it will not be on, then all of a sudden it comes back on blinking.....the tire pressure is fine no leaks,,,,,,please help.
The blinking is a code. Count the flashes to get the code.
IE; two flashes followed by three flashes is 23.
The code will repeat 4 or 5 times then the light stays on.
Call up the service department when you get the code #.
Ask what it means.
If they want you to bring the truck in before they give you an answer post the code here and we'll try to find the meaning of it.
A TPMS blinking light indicates you have a system related issue vs a tire pressure problem. If you have a code reader that can read body codes you could find out what's happening. But I don't think body codes are one's that your average code reader will read.
This site will give you a little more detail regarding what might be wrong, but you might want to start with finding a tire shop, dealer or a buddy who has the retrain tool to see if one of the sensors just got lost. It does happen. Hopefully this will fix your problem. FYI, you can usually buy the retraining tool from ebay for not too much, worth having.
