I keep thinking I can land a canoe anywhere and shore fish...
(back in the little coves that you can't get to on foot)
- You know, the old fashioned way.
We can always fish over the side
For the first year doing this I can't help thinking keep it simple. I'd like to know what Scott thinks, because he's my primary fishing buddy
I wonder what a good set of hip-waders costs these days?
HEY SCOTT! Does your Lady like to fish too? Might as well make a family thing out of it. Everybody is welcome
Sons, Daughters, Wives, dogs, kittens - a good time can be had by all...
Somehow I think a pet canary would be overkill however
And yet I have known hispanic guys to bring along a parrot...
(Spanish people are very colorful)
Looks like "Warcraft" weather to me - the kind where you sit indoors and dope out new strategies for old computer games!
You know what? I'm still going backwards and forwards over what kind of a boat I want. It's driving me outright buggy...
Canoe = no motor = old fashioned and closer to the heritage angle.
Conventional boat = trailer = motor and additional expenses but stability.
I just won't know until I actually go and look at what there is.
Is the boat for just you? Of so kayaks are actually very stable and able to into places a canoe can't.
Yeah she loves to do the fishing thing, atleast the deep sea fishing she loves. We have gone every year since we got married and also have to fish while in FL. hehe
Hey I was going to get the fly system and bartlett didnt have jack at the wally world. So I guess I will wait til I look around more. I didnt get my license either as the joker behind the counter was too busy textin his homegirl or something haha.
Here was our last years catch.....tons and tons of Spanish mackerel and king mackerel.
Scott...man you are making me long for fishing!...and then this morning I woke to a dusting of snow on the grass...
I mostly do crappie fishing these days...my FIL and I have a 17' Crestliner with a 90Hp Evinrude (Ficht FI)...a nice running boat...this past year it turned 10 and it was the first of any type of repair we have had to do other than plugs and gas filter...we needed to have one injector rebuilt and the fuel pump rebuilt...she runs like new again!
My FIL is down in Gulf Shores AL and he took our aluminum prop...also the original...well we had it reworked down there...just had a few small nicks here and there but we got it reworked for $45 and he also bought another used one for $50.
I grew up in Jersey and have been out on the ocean my whole life...well when I moved to Indiana 16 years ago...I had to relearn my fishing...ocean fish have tough mouths...crappie have paper mouths! ...I looked like a real rookie the first few years...but now I can fill a live well faster than most with those black crappies!
It won't be until after we get back from Hawaii until I even think about putting the pier and boat in at the lake...but your photos sure give me the itch!
I think I need a set of waders - but the prices in the Bass Pro Shop catalog were unbelievable... 60 to a hunnerd bucks?
Ya joshin' me now!
I can see the price of rubber boots going up, but not like that. I can get a used boat for what they want for new waders, and then I don't have to wonder what's on the bottom.
OK so who got snow yesterday? We got about 1.5 inches almost 2 in the midle of the day!
Forecast was rain. Was pretty but not expected at all. It will be gone today with a high of 50°.
