dave, you can rent a hammer drill to run a 2" core bore bit. i wouldnt buy one unless you have commercial use for it.

Good morning Connecticut!

Dave, 2" is a very large hole for a hand held combination hammer.
I would be looking at the largest sized TE series rotary hammer, but I have no idea what the current model numbers are.
I've been using a Hitachi H45 for years.

My handheld Hilti TE56 will handle a 2" bit. I'd also recommend renting from big orange, as much as I don't like going in there.

I need to push a solid bit as I'll be drilling deep blind holes to pour the demo cement into.

I don't think I could break & extract 2" cores out of their holes that easily.

I'll have to drill a lot of holes over a lot of days to frag the ledge out of my basement.

  • Hitachi H65
  • Hilti TE 92
It was Jim who gave me the advice, way back when buried in my FTE PM's
