might be called "caulk saver" dont know ,i just got it from the hardwear store. you need 3/8" if you got local ace or true value or even menards, homedepot just ask when by the caulk deparment, its used to fill gaps before you caulk over em if its too wide or deep for caulk alone. they make couple sizes i think. i think on ebay too, i figured if i was going to do it why not use something that will last, and the latex tubing was way to expensive that was listed in a mod page. think paid 8 bucks all done used silicone spray and wire snake and was done in 30 min. the problem with the reg tubing is as it ages it gets hard and brittle espically in cold weather and i live in northern wis and couple weeks ago my temp read -23 in the truck so i needed the foam to be flexable noise is way down compaied to before
I'm gonna have to try some of this stuff, then... thanks, guys!
First off love your rig. second go to home depot and get roofing material with the stickey backing. costs about 50 bucks i got 2 rolls. i was talking on the phone with mike "Big poppa" today on the way home from Harrisburg, PA.it makes a huge difference. I went from not being able to hear myself think to completly quiet. all i here is my engine, serisouly. i used 4 layers of it. basically just used up both rolls. took all the interior out cleaned the metal with simple green and layed that stuff in, you wouldnt believe how much quieter it got. dynamat is great, but the killll you on the price. its basically the same stuff as the roofing material..
sorry for the hijack
just a thought thouh, if you put the soapy water in a spray bottle it might make it easier, just spray the 3/8" hose as you feed it into the door seal and it should stay lubed up as you slide it in
I did mine on the passenger side about a year ago. I bought a 100ft of surgical tubing I think for around 30 or so. Anyways, I had problems with running it through(thus only one side done in a year) but it does close off all air/wind noise that it let in before. Maybe will try to do the driver side when it warms up this year.
might be some foam pieces in your existing molding , i had 4 1 foot pieces of foam through my supercab between bothsides. i made real small slit and pull em out

Thanks, man! I love my truck truck, too... yeah, I know that Dynamat is pricey. Eastwood makes some cheaper stuff, but I'm curious about this stuff you're talking about. Have you got a link to something like what you're talking about? I'm really gonna have to look into this!

if you go to home depot you are looking for something like that, however it is in a box and has a white backing to it. it worked great!
Oh I know what that stuff is... I used some of that on a buddy's house. The only thing is, I would think that stuff would smell up the inside of my truck for awhile. You have a super cab like me, right? Did you do the doors, floor, back wall, and roof when you did it? Know how many square feet were in each roll? This is what I was gonna try instead of the Dynamat... I was just using the name because everybody recognizes it:

Sure does! I just remember that stuff smelling pretty strong when I used it... I'm sure it'd wear off, though.
So how long until the smell wore down? I have an Excursion so thats alot of area to cover.......I figure might as well do it when I shampoo the carpet while all the seats are out.
If your doors are rattling, you may want to look at the rotating part of the door. They are built with a low friction plastic cover to help stop if from rattling. Mine are completely worn through. Might be worth adjusting your striker too....
