id say if he is that far with mileage rev x wont do much. all it does is patches the problem anyways. it doesnt fix it. the problem will come back so if it was me id replace all 8 with stockers until you can do the arp studs. the airdog you can install by yourself. i did it in my dorm room parking lot. not hard at all just need a fuel disconnect tool and a set of sockets. 20 bucks and about 2 hours time for pay about 75-95 p/hr for someone else to do it and it takes them 3-4 hours so that they make money. id rather buy the tools and do it myself and get a tool set out of it

Amen to that I'd much rather spend the money on tools than labor, even if it costs a little more. I bought quite a few specialty tools when I changed my gears, but still came out ahead compared to what I see people quoted for 4x4 gear swaps.

Still debating whether to rebuild or not. Too busy with work at this point.

I tried the hotshot to no avail. It was worth the 50 for the chance but I knew before I spent the money it wouldn't work. If a component is bad it needs to be replaced.

Just my two cents. I just got a set of OEM remanufactured injectors for 1129.00 bucks, going to install myself. Just watch the master tech do it on you tube and go for it. It is not a very difficult job. I just did a new turbocharger, new billet HPOP from Dieselsite, and I pulled my cab last year and did head bolts, EGR delete, standpipe upgrade, new oil cooler, and blue spring upgrade. Just get a good set of swivel head gear wrenches, watch the videos, and go for it and save your self $3000 dollars. just take your time and get a couple of real nice cushions to lay on. be careful not to drop bolts in the motor. YOU CAN DO IT

I BOUGHT AN AIR DOG ($799)FOR MY 1999 7.3. IT LASTED FOR LESS THAN 10,000 MILES AND BURNED UP, STRANDING ME AND COSTING ME A $359.00 TOW. AFTER CALLING THE COMPANY I WAS ADVISED IT WAS A BAD DESIGN FLAW IN THE SEAL BETWEEN THE MOTOR AND THE PUMP WHICH ALLOWED DIESEL FUEL INTO THE ARMATURE. THEY WANT $200 FOR A NEWLY DESIGNED MOTOR ASSEMBLY. ITS STILL HANGING ON MY TRUCK AFTER I RE-INTSALLED THE OLD PUMP. CALL EM AND ASK ABOUT THAT PROBLEM BEFORE YOU BUY AND BEWARE. I FEEL LIKE I GOT THE BIG SHAFT AND WOULD SAY DON'T BUY AIR DOG FUEL PUMPS
