you are not "wrong" as you are allowed to have your own opinion. My opinion (and a couple others here as well) just seems to be a bit different. No big deal.
I'm very used to all sorts of stuff getting cut up being in the desert race scene so watching a stock truck get torn down so much that just the cab and part of the frame being stock doesn't bother me. Heck - I think the things look better afterwards - pretty much no matter what they started as.
I would agree with your opinion more if the truck in question were a 66 or earlier, but there are TONS of these 73-79's out here to be picked from. And personally I like the "custom" or zero trim level trucks better than the fancy trim option ones, so I don't mind watching the "fancy pants" versions get hacked.

Still, like was said earlier, to most people, these trucks are just junk, so anybody doing ANYTHING to them is cool. I just wish I could justify spending $20K or so on my crew...

And there have been several Boss302 and Cobrajets and Mach 1s that have been turned into pro-streeters.
Many are rusting away in fields and barns as well.
Doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is nobody knows the guy's story. If the truck has been in his family since it was brand new, his grandpa owned it, his dad drove it and now he has it and they all adored Bigfoot, that could be a damn good reason to turn THAT truck into a clone. Not finding some rusting hulk and hoping and using even more cash to turn that into a clone.
Makes sense to me.

While lurking around the Midwest4wd page yesterday, as well as another BigFoot Facebook site, I surmised that there is a guy on there that bought a previous BigFoot truck from Bob Chandler and the folks at Midwest4wd. But not what you are thinking!
Apparently some time after the monster truck craze began, there was a monster truck named "Godzilla" that was built by Midwest4wd for a farmer in the area that wanted one. This truck was a 73-79' as well. The farmer then sold the truck at some point back to Midwest4wd and they turned it into BigFoot #5 with a tube chassis. They ran that configuration for a while and then decided to update the body for a later model version, so they took the 73-79' body off #5 and put it on a regular frame and used it as a plow truck around their shop.
Time passes and some guy comes along, who I don’t think had any affiliation with Midwest4wd, and saw the plow truck and wanted it and woked out with Midwest4wd to buy it. He bought the truck and still uses it as a plow truck today. A plow truck with BigFoot #5 body on it!!! (No, there are no BigFoot graphics on it). Sounds like the guy has plans to do some sort of restoration on it that would bring it to an early BigFoot #1 configuration before it got the huge tires. I guess the street legal version of the truck? We’ll have to wait to see how that develops. This could be interesting too......
Im not going to throw the guys name out here, but if you poke around enough you will find pics and info of the truck. It just looks like a regular plow truck with blue paint on the body. Even the drivers door is rusting through...
