Lighting issue?

A question for the electrical wizards on the board. The other day my 02 Dually started acting up. When I turn the left blinker on all is good, but when I turn the blinker on and apply the brakes the blinker stops blinking? I checked all the bulbs and they appear to all be working. Thw brake lights work fine and the blinkers work fine until I apply the brake and then the left one stops blinking. The right blinker has no issues. Hopefully someone has had this issue in the past and can point me in the right direction without getting a mechanic involved. Thanks Maxx

I have the plug in but there is no trailer hooked up when this happens. I will take a look at that hookup and see if anything looks out of whack.. Thanks Maxx

When I had an issue such as this it turned out to be the Signal Flasher growing weak. Replace that and it was fine.

Also check the wires at the trailer plug. Look to make sure they are not chaffed or rubbed through and coming in contact with each other.

I did not read where you had a trailer plugged in? the trailer plug fuses are under the hood in front of the driver.

I think if you look over this thread it may help you out. From reading it, is seems that some brake wires and the turn signal wires are both in the steering column together. There may be an issue there.
