I'm temporarily replacing the dying AOD in my truck with a C6.......until I find a suitable donor for a manual conversion.
For the swap I need to run a vacuum line to the modulator, which has a 1/4" fitting.
But doing a search I can only find someone specifying 3/16" tubing - is this correct? Would using 1/4" right through create any problems?
if 1/4'' tubing fits tightly over the nipple then it will be fine , i think it is to big ! take a modulator with you to a parts store and see what fits !
if you increase the inner diameter of the hose, wouldn't that decrease the pressure of the vacuum? going from 3/16" to 1/4" increases the diameter by 33.3%, don't know if that matters or not, just a thought.
the size difference between 1/4" & 3/16" would be nothing to worry about considering that the vacuum pump is a big ole V-8 engine ! if you were dealing with smaller pumps then the size difference could come in to play ! as with that modulator there is only one size of hose that can fit it as the nipples are all built on to them !
