2000 7.3 oil usage

I have owned a F-350 super duty since new. It uses approximately 3 quarts of oil for each 5000 miles. I am new to the diesel world and do not know if this is normal oil usage. Is this proper? thanks

That doesn't sound too bad. You are averaging a quart every 1666 miles.

Hmmm. You need to see what The Diesel Dudehas to say about this. I would PM him, if necessary. That sounds like a lot to me.

My 01 7.3 uses about 1 quart every 5,000 miles
