Recently installed Warn premium locking hubs and had 4x4 for a couple of weeks.
Here's the deal. Something is screwed up on the passenger side. If I jack it up and take the locking hub off, I can move the axle with my finger. Also, the "knuckle" on the inside of the wheel has some play and I can move it in and out a little bit. The drive shaft does turn the axle, but maybe not as much as it should. I'm thinking something is broke in there and the axle isn't catching completely, but I'm not sure where to start.
Jack up the front end in 2wd.. Lock both hubs and rotate each wheel to see if the axle turns behind the wheel. Maybe you could put a bar in the ujoint and make sure the hub is really working. Try locking and unlocking the hub. If both wheels lock good drop one wheel and try to turn the driveshaft by hand the wheel up in the air should turn. Drop that one and try the other side that one should turn also..
There is normally some slop in the axle shaft and joint. Compare to the other side..
Let me know what you find.
