Glove box ?

Bought full size hard board glove box. I see i could cut it back to make it fit so no big deal. My defrost vent is right in the way on my 53 f-100 so did they not come with a full size box originally or is something wrong? Just curious Thanks

The originals were about 8" deep.

I had mine in upside-down for a year before I realized it, don't know if that's possible on a mid-fifties... But it made a difference on mine. On BonusBuilts it will go either way and is not real obvious (to me anyway)

Glove box issues

I made my '50 glove box out of aluminium; less depth than original. Only problem I had was I cut out for light switch right where the ashtray guide track goes ! Guess I'll put a flashlight in glove box instead.

I was looking at the box I removed from my 56 and on the top left corner of it is recessed for that vent. Do you have a picture of the box you bought?

Bob, Bonus Built was Ford's designation for the 48-52 trucks - first generation F series. Claimed to have living room comfort........ at least compared to 42-47 trucks.

Just looked in mid fifty book. Apparently i have a drivers side vent on the passenger side. It says passenger side vent is shorter. I guess the passenger vent i bought off ebay was really a driver side vent. Have to locate the correct side.

I was thinking your vent looked different for some reason. I would have thought that the vents would have been the same from 53 to 56.
