Tailgate swap
I own a 2006 F350. Car looks great, but the tailgate needs to be repainted because of a dent and some scratches, so that's why I've bought a 2008-2010 tailgate through ebay today.
I'm not sure if it's possible to replace the old tailgate for the new one without purchase any other parts.
Please help me out.

It's not a direct swap. There are a few pieces required. I'm pretty sure they're available at the dealer, and cheap too. Do a search on 08 tailgate install. You'll see what I'm talking about. I had it saved somewhere on my PC, but I can't find it now.

Not sure about the non-step tailgate, but I upgraded from an 06 to an 08 step tailgate and I had to have a different drivers side hinge on the bed. If that tailgate has a tortion rod in it to help ease lifting, you will have to chage the mounting on the bed. The other side was the same.
