I'm looking at Expeditions.. '05-'06, w/ 5.4, 4x4..(80k-130k miles) is there any "demons" I need to know of with the Expeditions.. Engine life, maintenance, MPG's, price range (excellent condition) for listed miles....

Hope you find what will make you happy. From 2005(maybe 06) to present, the 4.6 was discontinued in the expys. MPG is nothing great in any year of the expys. For the engine life, this all depends on what you do to keep things going (regular and pereventive maint.) The air suspension (strongly in my opinion) is junk so I would say to look for one that doesnt have it. Heating issues are huge in the expys and it ranges from the heater core itself to the blend door ( front and/or rear assembly).
In the milage range you will be shopping in, it is very possible to buy an expy that hasn't yet had a plug change done.
There is a problem with breakage plug breakage during removal on the 3 valve (3V) head engines used starting in 2005. If you can confirm that the plugs have been changed before you purchase, it has some level of higher value. The actual amount would depend on whether you would have to pay a shop to have them changed (more than $500 in some instances), or whether you would tackle it your self (would require purchase of a $70 tool for removing broken plugs).
Thanks for the info... I do all my own mechanic work.. Hate the stealerships...
What is the issue with the broken plugs? Are they seizing themselves to the head or is it the torque angle when trying to remove them causing them to fatigue then break? When they do break, is it leaving the eletrode in the head? What is tool that is needed to remove the broken plug and what is special about it?

Do a search on broken spark plug. You will find a lot of detailed info.
Keep in mind that you may also find stuff about blown out plugs. This is a totally different problem experienced by earlier 5.4 2V (2 valve) engines. The later years your are interested in have the 3V (3 valve) engines. these are the engines with the breaking plugs during removal problem.
