I'm sure all those pieces are needed. I believe they are laying in the order they would go in. Spring, screen, washer, snap ring to hold them in. I would sure think all the pieces would be there somewhere.

When the oil filter was pulled off the only thing that was there was the spring,some time in the past they fell out and was not caught.
