Spring codes????

Since there is an entire alphabet's worth of different front coil springs, where do I need to look to find the Spring Code on my 1993 E-150?

That being said, any chance I can fit 250 or even 350 springs up front?

On the left door jamb there should be a Vehicle Certification sticker which has a lot of information about your entire van. Specificially at the bottom there is a line of code numbers/letters looking like this:

Under #12 or where it lists SPR you might find some useful information. I will add I've been trying to determine which front coils I have but most local spring shops say they need to measure the wire diameter, diameter and height of the spring installed before determinine anything. I'm guessing once they know what I have they could change to suit me.

Hope this helps even a bit!

Totally helps, thank you! I'm just thinking while I'm in there to find some newer, low mileage springs. So I go to scan Car-part.com and there's literally 20 or more spring letter codes. Makes you wonder why. On the plus side it seems as though the 3/4 and 1 ton coils were just a different letter code.
