Hey Ian, you're snapping interior door handles? I had the same thing going on, kept snapping the drivers handle, I figured out (at least in my case) it was because when I pulled on the handle it would flex backwards where it attached to the door. I cut a piece of 1/8th" sheet metal @ 3x3" and just wedged it behind the mechanism. I also tightened up the cable, I have not snapped a handle since then.
Hi Guys! dug up this old thread, I'm getting ready to swap out the pins and have a Q. The rear pass door does not like to close all of the way (have to slam it), I am assuming that this is due to the hinges being worn and the door is misaligned. Ate through the catch latch (stationary where door latches) on the door frame. Just want to make sure that this is not due to another problem

Also i have found when you start breaking handles it is cause the cable and latch assembly are getting worn and binding. I replaced one so far and havent broke any handles and works very good, it was like 100 dollars from Ford. And in my personal case me and a friend actually casted a handle out of aluminum! It has not broke yet and is a conversation piece when noticed.
Did mine a while back and wasnt too bad of a job,i didnt take the hinge loose, just did the lower ones.Make sure that you get pins that are long enough, the one at oreiley,s that said they were the right ones were too short.I just blocked the end of the door up with a box and some pieces of lumber, worked pretty good.I also have a drammel grinder that i got at wal mart,it is smaller and worked fine. Also bought a drift punch to drive them out with.make driving them out easier.
