Turbo / Exhaust / Problem....

Ok.. Wife was driving the truck today and said there is now a problem.
As she puts it, as she was driving there was a pop or thump, and then a loss of power, and she could hear a loud whistle from the dash area. (I’m assuming this was the turbo). She was able to drive it home just fine but said there was a loss of power.

I was able to look at the truck this evening when I got home. I was hoping to find an intercooler boot that blew off, but that was not the case. So I started up the truck and checked the intercooler boots for any leaks and found none. It is cold here so the EBPV closed and then the problem exposed itself in the form of a loud hissing / wooshing sound. This sound was louder from under the truck but was coming from the turbo area. Also to note, it seemed to me that the turbo spooled up as the EBPV activated. There also seemed to be an exhaust smell around the engine. I revved up the engine a few times and could clearly hear the turbo whistle was much louder. Boost gauge was showing up to 2 or 4 pounds of boost as I was revving it up.

I am thinking something is wrong with the up pipes? Or in that general area down behind the turbo.
<o></o>
Any Ideas?
<o></o>
Will it hurt the engine to drive the truck like this?

Thanks for your help in advance.

If you blew an up pipe donut, there will be a lot of soot on the firewall.

Went to the ford dealer today and got a pair of factory up pipes, donut gaskets, and a reinstall kit for the turbo in case I need to remove it to access the up pipes.

I'm not sure what is wrong yet. I will pull it down tmrw and know for sure.

I may only need the new donut crush ring. IDK...

But, those bellowed up pipes are twice as much as the factory ones. And the local dealer had the stock ford ones in stock. I need to fix this asap this weekend so I got them.

It was about $200 for the up pipes, donut gaskets, an the turbo reinstall kit. IDK why the turbo reinstall kit was so much. (about $80) I know I could have purchased it cheaper and maybe even better if I had ordered it online, but I am under a really tight timeline and needed the parts..

Will update tmrw after inspection and possible dismantle.
