can anyone help me out i recently bought a f550 with a bad engine well i have since rebuilt the motor and while my new mechanic was rebuilding the turbo he messed up the compressor housing i believe where the thrust collar goes on i have no idea where to even buy one?
I have an extra stock backplate and compressor housing if that helps you out. Not sure how your mechanic would mess it up but I am happy to help where I can.
thanks guys for your help sorry ive been extremely busy well my mechanic put the thrust collar on the turbo shaft and not knowing he had to line up the housing he put the 4 bolts in and started torquing them down and needless to say when we took it off we noticed all the metal shavings because he didnt line everything up so now the back where the thrust collar fits in is all messed up
yep the back plate id totally messed up i had my other mechanic today try to "fix" it and he said theres no way to completely fix it they did get the thrust washer inside but it wiggles alot now ......so now i guess its going to be hard to find that part?
Clay the man, or you could just put on a new turbo. I'd make the call. All he ask I think is you remember the good service when in need. Buying from a man like that is hard to come by now days. My 2cents
