on a good warm day, something like 35-40/145 ish, been a while since I worked on auto A/c, I do HVAC for a living though. It's pretty common that if at idle for a while A/C will not perform well. The speed of compressor, air over condenser all plays part. The low pressure of the last statement will cause low pressure in and out, you should here the compressor cycle at idle.

Thank you for this post! I was just about to make a thread about this same issue. I don't guess my girlfriend appreciates the heat and humidity that Georgia offers in ... well all summer long! lol

Pressures vary according to ambient temps. You really need a chart to be 100% accurate. On a warm day, it should be around 200 on the high side. 145 seems a little low to me for some reason. 40ish seems about right for the low side... I guess I'll be finding out though. My compressor started leaking oil from the center hub last month.

Check the wiring in the plug for the switch.
Mine quit working like you describe. Only worked when it wanted to.
The problem ended up being the wiring right at the plug had broken from ten years worth of engine vibration.

Mine is a totally different animal, my compressor quit, tried jumping it and a no go. Replacement before the summertime for me.
